Fundraising - A tribute to Patrick
Alun, Catherine, Louise, Rory and Hugo would like everyone to remember their son and brother Patrick Evans as he lived; fun loving, larger than life, exuberant and the life and soul of every party. Patrick’s life was cut short following a tragic skiing accident but he had always managed to fill it with fun and excitement, taking opportunities whenever they arose – just like Peter Tootle, the father of one of Patrick’s school friends who decided to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats in his memory.
Patrick’s uncle Francis Maguire soon offered to join Peter and his friend Robert Fenwick on the 970 mile bike ride which ended on 18 July.
Funds raised are to be split between Patrick’s chosen charities – the South West Kidney Fund and Prostate UK. Alun Evans is also organising a fundraising event, Party in the Park which we will feature in the next edition of Update. The family are comforted that some good has come out of their loss and that people’s generosity supporting these two events has allowed Patrick to make a difference.
