February 12, 2009 Better Health for Men Conference

Prostate UK will be holding the 2nd National Conference on "Better Health for Men: Moving Forward" on the 12th February 2009 at the Institute of Physics, London.

After last year’s successful consensus meeting "Better Health for Men: Finding the Way Forward" this one day meeting will consolidate progress and help to plan strategic future approaches. Men continue to die prematurely from cardiovascular disease, and diabetes and obesity in men are becoming ever more prevalent. Urological conditions such as prostate and bladder cancer cause significant morbidity and mortality, and erectile dysfunction (ED) is now recognised as a precursor to coronary artery disease (CAD). Men’s Health is now further up the agenda than ever before, but much remains to be done to detect problems earlier and to encourage men to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

So please join us and reserve your place for this FREE OF CHARGE conference for what we promise will be a most lively, educational and interactive day. We look forward to seeing you in February

March 14 – 22, 2009 Hike for Hope, 2009 - Sinai Desert Challenge, Egypt
In November 2007 over 100 participants took part in the second Hike for Hope, a desert trek along the Rift Valley in Kenya, all in the name of charity, and raised nearly £500,000 for both the Prostate Research Campaign UK and WellBeing of Women (www.wellbeingofwomen.org.uk).   For more about how they got on see these highlights.

Following the huge success of this second Hike for Hope, we are running another charity challenge in March 2009 across the Sinai Desert in Egypt.   Look here for further information (.pdf file).

For booking details and all other information visit Action For Charity the challenge organisers on behalf of the Charities.
