Celebrity chef Brian Turner teamed up with Prostate UK and BAUS (British Association of Urological Surgeons) in Glasgow in June to help raise awareness of issues that could save men's lives. Brian demonstrated how making simple but important changes to your diet can reduce the risk and on-set of prostate cancer. The conference showed new, holistic approaches to treating the disease and discussed the progress in hormonal therapy. Attending delegates were urological surgeons and prostate cancer specialists from the UK and around the world. A DVD has been produced by Ferring Pharmaceuticals in partnership with the British Uro-oncology Group and Prostate UK, to promote a holistic approach to living with prostate cancer. The DVD features information about hormone treatment but also gives advice on healthy lifestyle including exercise and how to eat a prostate-healthy diet with recipes from Brian Turner. It also includes practical advice from top medical experts on how to cope with some of the issues of living with hormone therapy such as sex problems and hot flushes.
